New Haven Home Recovery . . .

Providing Families a Place to Come Home To

Established in 1990 as provider of emergency shelter for families, New Haven Home Recovery Inc. is working in the New Haven area to address the housing and support service needs of women with children. NHHR provides services to families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  NHHR has developed its programs to include the work of the AIDS Service Program, Food Pantry and supportive housing programs.

Women in Crisis Shelter Renamed "Martha's Place"
On Tuesday, January 8th, the NHHR shelter known as "Women in Crisis" was renamed "Martha's Place" in a dedication ceremony in honor of Martha E. Gonzalez. Martha was one of NHHR's original employees. She is a wonderful women and has always been very dedicated to the mission of NHHR and the plight of homelessness in the New Haven community.

               The Furniture Co-Op

The Furniture Co-Op collects furniture and housewares from the general public, and then gives them to families who are transitioning from homelessness, living with disabilities or other insufferable hardships.
