New Haven Home Recovery . . .

Providing Families a Place to Come Home To

Transitional Housing Services

Homeless Families Transition Collaborative (established 1997)

NHHR embarked on a unique collaborative venture with several community-based providers of shelter and vocational services. This HUD funded program is administered by the CT Women's Consortium, whereby NHHR provides supervision of Case Management for homeless women who are the head of household, who present both a need and a willingness to participate in support services. NHHR's Transitional Housing Program provides supportive housing for up to 24 months for women who participate.

Supportive Housing for Families (SHF) (established 1998)

This is a collaborative effort between NHHR and another provider of services, The Connection, Inc. Funded by the Department of Children & Families (DCF), this program provides intensive case management and the provision of safe, quality, affordable and permanent housing for primary caregivers who are working towards reunification with their children under the care of DCF. NHHR is responsible for the New Haven region component of this statewide program and is committed to the provision of support services, and works closely with DCF social workers and community providers, to provide stable homes where families can reunite with their children.
