Martha's Place
History & Shelter Service Overview
In 1999 NHHR opened its second shelter, Women in Crisis (WINC), recently re-named Martha’s Place in honor of a retired employee. This facility houses single women and also accommodates three families. We provide the same types of individualized services and temporary shelter to women at Martha's Place that women receive at CareWays. The Martha’s Place shelter is a voluntary length of stay program. We have 24 beds (18 singles/3 families) for women to use for an initial 60 days minimum with 3 extensions per stay of up to 5 months. We conduct a basic needs assessment to all women and have a 24 hour on call crisis line. |
